C3 Church Northern Connections (C3NC) is moving to Hoyts Cinema Northland Shopping Centre from August 29th.

We’re really excited to be moving into the heart of the Northern Suburbs the synagoge of the day – the shopping centre.

It’s so exciting to be around and amongst the local community – muslims, Christians, non-believers. We thank God for the chance to shine our light in our community.

Invite

We’ve got the best thing to give away: eternal life, friendship with God, abundant life.

The promises are inherited by faith & patience. It takes time.

We need to invite people to Christ and His kingdom.

Rahab gives a great example of a Christian life. She was a prostitute – someone who appears to not “deserve” God – none of us do! Yet God counted her worthy to be the lineage of Jesus the Christ!

She:

1. Invited friends and family into her home
2. They were saved by being in her house
3. She showed the blood of Jesus in the form of the scarf
4. The spies spared her.

This is a model we can follow:

Hang out the blood of Jesus. Let our light shine.

Invite others – in to our house, our heart, our secret place

Communicate to God – showing the blood. We are the epistle.

Create a legacy for many generations to come.

Transfigured

Matthew 17:2 There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.

Paul uses the same word “transfigured” (metamorphoō in the Greek language) when he says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

1. Conform – there is a pressure to conform; to not shine. To not be glorious.

Christ in you – the hope of glory = you shining so bright that darkness, satan and the kingdom of darkness flee beig replaced with the Kingdom of Christ – love, joy, peace as you rest and shine in the Holy Ghost.

2. Be transfigured! You and I are being TRANSFIGURED MORPHED metamorphoō into the VERY image of Christ! It’s who you already really are – in Him!

3. Pray for your believing friends. Ephesians 6:18 says to! (And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints). Pray thay are transformed, glorious.

4. Pray for our service on Sunday. We are in the business of changing people; through the power and Word of Christ. When we TRANSFORM people. We TRANSFORM cities. He will come back. Will you be ready? Start to pray for our services, our connect groups, and the millions of people who are yet to come!

Exalt the Word of God

Psalm 138:2 says I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Psalm 1: 1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,and on his law he meditates day and night.3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.Whatever he does prospers.

2 Timothy 3:14 - But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 7:24 - “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

2 Tim 3:16 - All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Isaiah 55:10 – As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Jesus prayed

Jesus prayed daily and look at the results:

Step 1: But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. (Luke 5:6)
Step 2: They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.” (Luke 5:26)

If we are to bring Kingdom of heaven to earth, we must first pray:

This song reminds me of Jesus praying in the morning “while it was still dark”. Now it can become our prayer too!

Pronounce a blessing

God has blessed us. We are already blessed. We are righteous. Favour surrounds us as a shield. We are blessed coming in and going out. It is His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom. Ask and you shall receive. He shall meet all your needs according to HIS riches in glory. You are blessed. Say it! “I am blessed”. Jonathon is blessed. Erin is blessed. Northern Connections is blessed. Melbourne is blessed. The knowledge of the glory of the Lord WILL cover Melbourne as the waters cover the seas. It will happen. It has been told.

He is King of Kings. He is Lord of lords. He has that name tattooed on His thigh. What a hero. What a warrior. He trains our hands for war. We will be victorious.

So when will you agree with His blessings church? Say it now:

My body is blessed.
My legs are blessed.
My arms are blessed.
My eyes are blessed.
My bones are blessed.
My heart and soul are blessed.
My finances are blessed.
My cup runs over.
You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup You maintain my lot.
God we love you. We adore you. You are magnificent. You are beautiful.
We agree with heaven that we are blessed. You have blessed us because you were cursed hanging on the tree, we are blessed.

“I had a man appointment” – God

Many Christians refer to a “God appointment” however I wonder if God has “man appointments”?

2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”

God had a man appointment with Moses at the burning bush.

He had a man appointment with Jacob at Bethel.

And he wants to have a man appointment (or woman appointment) with you!

Tonight before Connect Group I felt Jesus talking to me in this way and He said He wanted to meet with us. I had an inner knowing that tonight we were to just pray; only pray. So I prayed. We prayed. He was with us.

Interestingly a girl in our connect group said, “I want to see something powerful tonight”. She went on to ask whether we could watch a powerful video we once watched about the Universe and creation. I felt a little unprepared for a moment and then realised, “hang on a minute…we’ve got God”

God is enough! God is the still waters that Psalm 23 writes about. He is the green grass baby!

I was satisfied and so we began to pray. It was initially quiet, uncomfortable and unnerving, however the Holy Spirit turned up (he was already there!) and He moved and each person testified, with tears, how powerful the night was.

Oh thank You God for putting up with us!
